While living in Holland I came back to the little Inn I was staying at after having supervised al the riders in their
classes with Holland’s top coach Wilfred Biers As I walked in the door a beautiful white pigeon fly in the door and flew
directly to the young ladies arm. That was tending the bar. As Kim was a farm girl she didn’t flinch. The pigeon sat on
her shoulder while she was attending the guests. That night I had arranged for a party and was cooking for the team.
The pigeon hopped over to the beer spout because it was thirsty. As Kim was used to her father coming in with his chicken
she realized the pigeon was thirsty and hungry. It truly was a beautiful pigeon. As the Jiang su team came in they loved the
friendly pigeon. They took it back with them to their apartment. After a few days I heard complaints from some of the riders.
The Mongolian kids of course were the ones who had experience with hunting with falcons so they were the ones who like the
pigeon. The young men from the city didn’t like the pigeon because it was defecating all over the apartment. One day someone
left the door open in the apartment. I’m sure it was accidently on purpose. The two Mongolian riders were devastated that their
pigeon was gone. That day there was an article in the news paper that some Chinese had come to the area to buy some homing
pigeons and were giving them a trial before purchase.Homing pigeons were let loose and normally fly home. The homing pigeon
that found us was obviously hungry and wanted a meal and some TLC before he continued on his journey. The article also mentioned
that the price of the homing pigeons were 250,000. Euros a piece!! The beautiful white Homing Pigeon flew home and off to China!
